During the holidays and special events, I always found myself frustrated and anxious to find the perfect gift for my family and friends. Most gifts were mass-produced, looked cheap, and lacked that special touch. My hope is that Ascend Gifts can alleviate some of those pressures that I have experienced with gift giving, and create memorable moments that are cherished for years to come. Our gifts go beyond the department store aisle and mass produced gift shop tchotchkes. We aim to produce handmade laser-cut treasures that are sure to stand out with that special personalized touch.

A Little About Me (The Wizard Behind the Laser!)

Hi there! My name is Justin. I’m the face, hands, and (sometimes slightly frazzled) brain behind Ascend Designs. After 13 years working as an Instructional Designer and Web Designer for the Federal government, I decided to trade in the red tape for painters tape, laserbeams, and saw dust! Launching my own business has been a lifelong dream of mine! Starting Ascend Gifts has pulled me out of my comfort zone of logic and has helped me explore my more creative and abstract side. With a background in design, I have a keen eye for turning ideas into beautiful, tangible items. So, rest assured, your custom piece is in good hands – probably covered in a fine layer of wood dust, but good hands nonetheless!

I have always held a love and sense of adventure for the great outdoors. Visiting National Parks, snowboarding various mountains, and discovering new paths to take has inspired the earthy and rustic vibes of Ascend Designs! I’m looking forward to this opportunity to provide joy to others while doing what I truly am passionate about.
